On November 12, State Duma deputies passed a law prohibiting “childfree propaganda” during its second and third readings, as announced on their official website.
The law bans the dissemination of "destructive content" that promotes the choice to avoid having children across the internet, mass media, cinema, and advertising.
"We must ensure that new generations of our citizens grow up oriented toward traditional family values," said State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.
Violations of the law may result in fines of up to 400,000 rubles for individuals and up to 1 million rubles for legal entities.
