A missile attack on the town of Rylsk in Kursk Oblast has left six people dead, including one child, and ten others injured, Acting Governor Alexander Khinshtein reported on December 20.
Alexander Khinshtein stated that the injured, including a 13-year-old child, are receiving hospital treatment, with their injuries classified as minor.
According to Khinshtein, the shelling caused damage to a cultural center, a primary school, the dormitory and study hall of the Rylsk Civil Aviation Technical College, offices of CDEK and Ozon, three residential buildings, and several other structures.
Rylsk, located 30–40 kilometers from Ukraine’s Sumy Oblast, was shelled on December 20. Authorities claim that multiple missiles were launched at the town using the HIMARS system. The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case on terrorism charges.
