Teachers at a school in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug made second graders kneel to congratulate Vladimir Putin on his 72nd birthday, as reported by the "Not a Norm" project on October 7.
On October 7, second-grade students from the town of Gubkinsky were arranged in the shape of the letters "P," "U," "T," "I," "N," holding flags to wish Vladimir Putin a happy birthday.
A photo of the kneeling schoolchildren was posted on VKontakte by Nadezhda Meshcheryakova, a primary school teacher at School No. 2 and the secretary of the local United Russia branch. Her page is now private.
A similar event involving adults took place on October 7 in Dagestan, where Putin’s supporters formed the word "Power" and released a balloon featuring an enormous image of the president into the sky.
