On September 6, pro-government voters in Russian regions arrived at the elections dressed in life-size costumes. At some polling stations, voters were treated to sweets and pastries, as reported by "7x7."

A T-Rex showed up at the election for the head of Bashkortostan in Ufa, while Minions appeared at a similar event in Blagoveshchensk. In the village of Fedorovka, people dressed as Vikings came to cast their votes for the regional governor.

In Khabarovsk, voters spotted a life-size tiger and a bear, while Cheburashka visited a polling station in Volzhsky, Volgograd Oblast. In Volgograd, voters were offered traditional karavai bread, in Kuzbass they were treated to cupcakes, and in Bashkortostan, voters enjoyed pancakes and kvass.

This week, 21 regions are holding gubernatorial elections, while another 11 are choosing parliamentary deputies. Various cities and villages will also elect local councils.

Due to the Ukrainian army’s incursion, elections in Kursk Oblast were held earlier than planned, starting on August 28. The regional election commission reported a 40% voter turnout by the morning of September 6, the first official day of voting, a figure typically reached over the entire election period.
