Forty-one rescuers were injured while battling a fire at a diesel fuel warehouse in Proletarsk, according to Rostov Oblast Governor Vasily Golubev on August 19.
Authorities reported that 18 of the injured rescuers were hospitalized. Five are currently in intensive care and will be transferred to hospitals in Rostov.
A state of emergency was declared yesterday in Proletarsky District. Firefighting efforts at the warehouse have continued for two days after drone wreckage fell on the depot on the morning of August 18.
The district administration assured residents that there is no risk of the fire spreading to residential areas and urged everyone to "remain calm."
