On August 15, the Liza Alert search-and-rescue team announced that they would be concealing information about individuals who disappeared in Russian border regions during recent battles. The volunteers cited security concerns as the reason for this decision.

The Liza Alert search-and-rescue organization has hidden the data of those who disappeared in the border regions to "protect relatives from fraudsters." Alerts with missing individuals' photos or personal data will no longer be published. However, Liza Alert promises to continue the searches "in a closed format."

"We are in contact with everyone who reaches out to us, with relatives and loved ones. However, we are compelled to remove personal data from public access. This information is crucial for finding witnesses, but security is even more important," the volunteers wrote.

During the first nine days of the Ukrainian army's incursion in Kursk Oblast, searchers and rescuers received 523 reports of missing people.

On August 15, a VK group created by the relatives of the missing to aid in their search was blocked. This occurred following a request from the Kursk Oblast government, which cited potential blackmail by the Ukrainian Center for Information and Psychological Operations.
