Metropolitan Viktorin of Izhevsk and Udmurtia announced the "Traditional Upbringing for Girls in Grades 5 to 9" project during a meeting with the republic’s head, Alexander Brechalov, on November 1, as noted by the Udmurtia Against Corruption movement.
In September 2024, the Union of Orthodox Women of Udmurtia launched the project "Traditional Upbringing for Girls in Grades 5 to 9" in four schools in Izhevsk, potentially reaching a total of 90 girls.
The curriculum consists of nine subjects divided into two focus areas. The first introduces girls to "codes of conduct, traditional values, and their native land," while the second aims to "accustom girls to steady labor, educate them on art and fashion, teach them household management, graceful movement and attire, and the creation of floral and mosaic arrangements."
On September 11, during a lesson titled "For Life," Metropolitan Viktorin encouraged the girls to "learn about their saints, read the Lives of the Saints, and address their heavenly patrons in prayer."
Olga Novgorodtseva, head of the regional branch of the Union of Orthodox Women of Udmurtia, noted that for many girls, this was their first experience discussing spiritual topics.
