Activist Andrei Litvin stood in the center of Petrozavodsk with a single picket on the International Day of Peace on September 21. He held a poster showing the Ukrainian flag, soldiers, military equipment and the slogan: "Overcome indifference – pursue peace".
According to Litvin, he stands for world peace, protesting against fighting in Ukraine, Syria and other parts of the world. He urged people to lay down their arms and stop the fire. But people failed to be moved.
‘Today, the UN recommends stopping hostilities, and to pursue peace. War in Syria and other places of the world, including Ukraine, the closest to us, was the reason why I pictured deliveries of weapons and volunteers that do not allow the cessation of hostilities,' Litvin said.
Andrei Litvin held a single picket on September 21, 2016 with the same poster. In 1981, the International Day of Peace was established by the UN General Assembly. In 1992, the United Nations Organization decided to celebrate this day around the world, including Russia, on September 21. This day was a day of renunciation of violence and a ceasefire.
