Komi Rosprirodnadzor fined Ukhtageoservis LLC for environmental violations by 918 thousand rubles.
The enterprise and its officials are brought to administrative responsibility for using subsoil with violation of licensing conditions, damage to lands, violation of water use rules for mining and for non-compliance with the requirements for protecting water bodies from pollution.
At the beginning of July 2017, fishermen from the Ukhta district filmed two inflows of the spawning Belaya Kedva River, which flow through the state reserve of the Republican significance. It is clear that the surface of the water in the streams is strongly clouded. They transferred the records to environmental services.
According to the city portal, fishermen accused gold miners in the pollution – there are two licensed areas for the development of a gold deposit that are in use by Ukhtageoservis LLC.
On July 20, the Ministry of Industry, Natural Resources, Energy and Transport of Komi reacted to the situation.
The check showed rough violations in the development: the equipment is located in the coastal protection zone, the banks are littered with industrial debris, there are traces of motor fuels, household waste is drained into streams. Besides, the stream course changes when extracting the gold-bearing rock.
Inspectors sent all the materials to the Rosprirodnadzor department in Komi. Specialists of this department confirmed facts of violations in the field of environmental protection.
Work at the fields has been suspended.
