The Kamensk-Uralsky Technical College for Trade and Service was ordered to pay 100,000 rubles in compensation to a student after a teacher forced her to kneel during a lesson in February. Lawyer Sergey Barsukov reported this on October 22.
The court ruled that the college in Kamensk-Uralsky must compensate the student 100,000 rubles for moral damages. During the hearings, the college’s principal and lawyer attempted to argue that such actions were part of the training program for law enforcement officers.
In February, police officer and college teacher Ivan Korsak forced a student to kneel in a corner as punishment. She was later hospitalized with a cyst in her knee. Korsak also publicly beat another student with a belt. He was subsequently dismissed from both the college and the police force.
