The Ministry of Internal Affairs has declared Karelian activist Anna Trusova wanted, as noted by a "7x7" journalist on September 17.
Anna Trusova, a 59-year-old activist from Segezha, Karelia, was added to the wanted list on the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ website.
In April 2024, it was revealed that criminal cases for spreading "fake information" about the Russian army (Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) were initiated against Trusova and her fellow activist, pensioner Irina Nippolainen. However, Nippolainen has not been declared wanted by the authorities.
Both activists left Russia in 2023 following searches of their homes, during which their electronic devices were confiscated, reportedly due to their critical posts on VKontakte.
The women were involved in protests and pursued public office. In 2021, Anna Trusova ran for a seat in the Karelian Legislative Assembly as a member of the Just Russia party, while Irina Nippolainen was a candidate for Yabloko.
