A family from the village of Karyzh in the Glushkovsky District of Kursk Oblast died on the bridge over the Seym River on August 29, as a neighbor of the deceased told "7x7."
Three people died in the village of Karyzh in the Glushkovsky District on August 29. Our magazine has identified them as 56-year-old Tatyana Grebennikova, 51-year-old Valery Grebennikov, and their 22-year-old daughter, Yana. The family's neighbor confirmed their deaths to 7x7.
Local residents reported that the Grebennikov family came under a Ukrainian strike on August 29. The pro-war Telegram channel ANNA NEWS claims that they were trying to leave the border village by car via the partially destroyed bridge over the Seym River when the Ukrainian Armed Forces allegedly dropped an aerial bomb, completely demolishing the bridge span. This information has not yet been officially confirmed.
The Ukrainian army had destroyed the bridge in Karyzh on August 18. Radio Liberty found that the Russian Armed Forces later constructed a pontoon crossing at the site. Satellite images from August 26 show that the bridge was partially submerged.
Authorities in Kursk Oblast have not provided updates on civilian casualties, and the acting governor of Kursk Oblast, Alexey Smirnov, ceased reporting on victims after the Ukrainian incursion began. However, as of August 20, medical services confirmed the deaths of 17 people.
