Forty-one-year-old Alexander Grigorenko, a former deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Perm Krai, has been appointed principal of School No. 87 in Perm, effective August 20. He shared this news in an interview with the local newspaper "Star".
Alexander Grigorenko participated in combat in Ukraine in 2014 and returned to the front several times after the start of the full-scale war. In 2023, after sustaining an injury that led to the amputation of his hand, Grigorenko returned to Perm, where he conducted "lessons of courage" for schoolchildren.
The new principal has already announced plans to establish a "Youth Army" division based on the school’s "Volunteer" club and to integrate the "Movement of the First" division, the school’s sports club, and the student council into a "unified educational system."
In September 2023, a war veteran and airborne troops captain, Sergey Bikmayev, was appointed principal of a school in the Tomsk District. Another former war participant, Mikhail Divinsky, became the head of an orphanage in Kaliningrad Oblast in January 2024.
