Ukraine has established its first military office in Kursk Oblast, led by Major General Eduard Moskalyov. This was announced by Oleksandr Syrsky, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Army, during a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff on August 15.

According to Oleksandr Syrsky’s assessment, the Ukrainian army has advanced 35 kilometers into internationally recognized Russian territory and now controls 82 localities.

In addition to the military office, Ukraine plans to create a "safety zone" in the seized territories to protect Sumy Oblast and establish humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of civilians.

Over 120,000 people have been evacuated from Kursk Oblast since the Ukrainian army’s incursion. Last night, the Kursk operational headquarters announced the evacuation of the Glushkovsky District. About 2,000 residents of Kursk Oblast have gone missing, with no contact for a week.
