There has been a shortage of immune status test systems for HIV positive people in Kaliningrad. The AIDS Center’s patients will be able to undergo the testing only in the autumn. The Patsientsky Kontrol (‘patient control’) Organization reported this on Facebook* on July 31.
The AIDS Center’s patients complained that they were not able to undergo their immune status’ testing: they were told to wait till the autumn in the medical institution. According to health workers, the test systems have been purchased, but there are some problems with delivery. Patsientsky Kontrol intends to contact the Ministry of Health to clarify the situation.
HIV patients should constantly monitor their immune status: its decline can lead to life-threatening diseases. According to RBC, Russia depends on various HIV tests' foreign manufacturers. The share of imported immune status tests is 97%.
After the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, problems with the supply of medicines began in Russia. For example, in June, the Ministry of Health of Russia reported that the stock of medicines for beneficiaries in Russia would be enough for a maximum of nine months. It is unknown how the Russians will be provided with them after this period.
96 thousand people have signed a petition demanding to find medicines for people with thyroid diseases. The medication must be taken daily, otherwise the disease will lead to death. A resident of YNAO confirmed this. The woman with thyroid disease could not buy vital medicine for a month.
