The Technopark Company, constructing a solid domestic waste landfill near station Shies, has filed an appeal against the decision of the Commercial Court of the Arkhangelsk Oblast to demolish permanent buildings on the site of the planned facility. This was reported by Interfax on January 30 with reference to the press service of the 14th Arbitration Court of Appeal.
The complaint has already been submitted to the court of appeal in Vologda, but the trial’s date is still unknown. Representatives of the Technopark Company announced their intention to challenge the decision of the Arkhangelsk Commercial Court immediately after the decision to demolish the buildings was made.
On January 9, at the request of the administration of the nearest settlement to Shies, the village of Urdoma, the Commercial Court of the Arkhangelsk Oblast recognized that Technopark had violated the terms of the lease of the site and built permanent buildings — part of the planned «ecotechnopark» — there: railroad platforms, a hangar, a hostel, roads, a water-intake facility, wells, and a helicopter deck.
Some lawyers believe that when considering the case in the 14th Arbitration Court of Appeal, politics may interfere in the case, and Technopark will try to delay the case as much as possible in order to get all the permits for the construction.
Technopark has been building a solid domestic waste landfill at station Shies on the border of Arkhangelsk Oblast and the Komi Republic for the residents of Moscow and Moscow Oblast since July 2018. Local residents did not endorse the initiative, they began to hold mass actions and prove the illegality of the construction of such an object in court.
