Information about a convict who is serving a sentence in Colony No. 6 in the Kirov region appeared on the website 'Torture Territory'. It says that a man, whose name was not disclosed, experienced violence.
The lawyer's survey reported that the convict arrived in the colony in March 2016. On March 4, he was placed in strict conditions of detention, other convicts beat him with a belt and a stick, they also dipped the man's head in a barrel of water.
According to the convict, on March 20, 2017, several employees of the colony beat him for speaking too loudly, chained the man's legs with handcuffs to the table, he stayed suspended for several hours.
The convict claims that they want to send him to a psychiatric hospital, although he does not have any diseases. On March 21, he swallowed two self tappers to get to the hospital and leave the colony. The statement does not specify whether he received medical assistance after that.
According to human rights activist Anastasia Zotova, lawyer of the convict will write complaints to the Investigative Committee and the Prosecutor's Office on these facts. Human rights defenders will pass this information to the human rights representative Tatyana Moskalkova and human rights activist Mikhail Fedotov.
According to Zotova, in colony No. 6 there are at least two other people who claimed violence. Lawyer failed to meet one of them. The second convict is Eduard Gorbunov, who reported that he was tortured in February this year.
