Two musicians of 'Serdity DeD' will be brought to justice for for the performance of song about Jewish representatives at a concert in Arkhangelsk club 'Koleso' in 2015. Representatives of the Investigative Committee of the Arkhangelsk region informed about it on March 6.
Arkhangelsk citizens are accused of part 1 of article 282 of the Criminal Code ('Actions aimed at inciting social hatred and humiliation of a group of persons on the grounds of nationality'). Investigators said that during interrogation musicians confessed and repented of the crime: 'They explained that the song was written long ago, when they were interested in the idea of a national Russian society'.
Lead singer Valery Vylegzhanin told «7x7», that on January 25 the FSB operatives came to three members of the band with attesting witnesses, cameras and search warrant.
'After this we were brought to the investigator, and learned about the criminal case and extremist song. We don't know the date of court yet; we sang this song just because it was our song and we had it, extremist content was not a priority, and it was only proven by expertise, not completely,' Vylegzhanin said. 'We believe that there was a denunciation, but we can only guess: there are people in our environment, who could do this, but there are no facts. The case was initiated in the autumn of 2016 and the examination also took place at that time – if it was the FSB, it would be a lot faster.'
According to him, musicians did not know that the law enforcement agencies would be interested in their early works. They will no longer perform extremist song, and asked subscribers of their VKontakte group to remove it from the audio files.
Rock band 'Serdity DeD' appeared in 2013. Previously, members of this band were called 'Dear Russians'. A lead singer Anton Sapega wrote song about Jews. Group 'Serdity DeD' in VKontakte has 560 members. Description of the band says that it 'combines everything Russian in rock, and everything rock in Russians'.
