A young woman from Tuva was shot in the face during a gunfight. Sayan Ondar, a deputy of the republic’s Great Khural (parliament), may have been involved in the conflict, journalist Almira Sendi reported on November 6.

On November 6, journalist Almira Sendi published a video showing the young woman with a blood-covered face, stating that, according to unconfirmed reports, "Great Khural Deputy Sayan Ondar might have been involved in the incident." The media outlet Tuvapress reported that the shootout allegedly took place on November 4 in a restaurant in Kyzyl, resulting in five individuals hospitalized with gunshot wounds. According to media reports, "prominent athletes" were also involved in the conflict alongside the deputy.

The Great Khural issued a statement declaring that only law enforcement and the courts can confirm or refute the suspect’s guilt.

Police reported that a criminal case has been initiated for deliberate infliction of grievous bodily harm involving a weapon, but they did not disclose the names of those involved.

Sayan Ondar is the Chairman of the Committee on National and Youth Policy, Sports, Tourism, and Affairs of Small-Numbered Indigenous Peoples. He is a member of the United Russia party. The deputy has not publicly commented on the allegations.
