The authorities of Kamchatka did not grant the local division of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) permission to hold a protest against the election results, citing a lack of police officers. The party reported this on September 26.

The CPRF had planned a protest regarding the election results in the village of Milkovo, but the district administration rejected the proposed location and suggested the rally be held at the Stroitel Stadium in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky instead.

The authorities explained that they lacked barricades for the event and could not assign 10-12 police officers to block the roads "due to the current operational situation."

The by-election for Kamchatka Krai's district No. 11 Legislative Assembly seat took place between September 6 and 8. The CPRF candidate, Sergey Kutsevich, finished fourth, while Sergey Lozovsky from United Russia took first place. Tatyana Korenevskaya, a member of the election commission and former CPRF deputy, challenged the election results.
