Police detained a man who attacked two women with a knife and stole their gold jewelry. One of the victims was hospitalized, Komsomolskaya Pravda reported on September 11.

The attack took place in Sakhalin, where the perpetrator stole the women’s jewelry, leaving one hospitalized. Shortly before the incident, local Telegram channels had warned residents about a man armed with a knife and a stone.

"7x7" identified the perpetrator as Vitaly Prisukhin, who had prior convictions for robbery, assault, and drug offenses. He was also on the federal wanted list.

According to Prisukhin’s social media profile, he had participated in the war in Ukraine and was wounded in April 2024. Local sources claim he served in Sakhalin’s 39th Motorized Rifle Brigade and was awarded the "For Courage" medal.

Komsomolskaya Pravda, citing the Sakhalin Oblast Ministry of Internal Affairs, reported that Prisukhin now faces charges of robbery and intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm.

It is not uncommon for war veterans to commit crimes after returning from the front. For instance, in August, a court in Altai Krai found local resident Danil Orlov guilty of attempted murder. He had attacked a Federal Penitentiary Service officer with whom he had been drinking. The two had met while Orlov was serving time in a penal colony where the officer worked. The prisoner later left for the war in Ukraine and returned with a "For Bravery" medal. He was sentenced to six years in a high-security penal colony.
