On September 2, the Nyandoma City Court found activist Radik Adnobayev guilty of repeated discrediting of the army (Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and causing moderate bodily harm (Article 112 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), imposing a fine of 140,000 rubles. This information was shared with "7x7" by Adnobayev’s friends.
In addition to the fine, Radik Adnobayev was sentenced to 1.5 years of restricted freedom. The activist is prohibited from leaving the district or managing social media accounts. Furthermore, his confiscated smartphone was deemed an "instrument of the crime" by investigators and seized by the state.
The charges of repeated discrediting of the army against Adnobayev stem from his anti-war posts on social media, while the bodily harm charge is linked to a physical altercation. A year ago, during a political argument, the activist was involved in a fight with a supporter of Vladimir Putin, which led to his opponent sustaining a rib fracture.
Radik Adnobayev was involved in protests against the construction of a landfill near Shies station. In February 2022, he was stripped of his mandate as a deputy of the Kargopolsky District Assembly at the request of Governor Alexander Tsybulsky. His dismissal was reportedly due to a failure to submit a report on his wife’s income in a timely manner.
