A deputy from Tolyatti, Vasily Vorobyov, will join the military in Ukraine because of the terrorist attack in the Moscow region. 'See you in the Washington Oblast of the Russian Federation,' wrote the deputy on his VK page.

Vasily Vorobyev, a deputy of the Tolyatti City Duma, commented on the terrorist attack in the Moscow region, which happened on his birthday, by saying that 'these bastards have crossed all the red lines.' Vorobyov mentioned shelling of 'civilian population of Voronezh, Belgorod, and Rostov regions,' as well as 'Crimea and Sevastopol.'

"See you in the Washington Oblast of the Russian Federation?! Is this what you are trying to achieve? We are Russians! God is with us! I am going to protect our homeland! <...> Please understand me: I cannot hide behind the skirt of my dear mother, wife, sisters, daughters, and granddaughter!" expressed the deputy.

Vorobyov promised to keep his deputy mandate and 'fulfill all the district-related commitments.' The politician will go to Ukraine in late April.

On March 22, four men armed with machine guns attacked visitors of Crocus City Hall, who came to see the concert of the Picnic rock band. 133 people died, another 140 sustained injuries.

The Federal Security Service (FSB) reported detaining 11 individuals, four of whom were 'directly involved in the attack.' Four men were arrested and supposedly tortured. Vladimir Putin asserted that the terrorists tried escaping to Ukraine and that 'there was a window opened for them to cross the state border on the Ukrainian side.' He compared the attackers to the Nazi 'perpetrating massacres on the occupied territories.'

Following the attack, Russian officials and propagators started promoting the death penalty. The head of the United Russia faction in the State Duma, Vladimir Vasilyev, stated that this idea would be 'profoundly and thoroughly studied.' The Kremlin currently refrains from discussing the potential lifting of the death penalty ban.
