The team of the Unobvious Coronavirus Victims Interregional Project identified the regions with the largest number of signals about problems after three months of monitoring. The goal of the project is to highlight not obvious consequences of the coronavirus pandemic and to tell about its victims who have not been noticed publicly.
The monitoring's results reveal tendencies and anomalies related to the problems caused by the coronavirus pandemic in Russia. The absence of signals about the problem in the region does not always mean that there are no such facts. Perhaps, they just have not become the focus of local media interest.
The largest number of signals about unobvious victims of coronavirus was recorded in Krasnodar Krai (69 signals). Regional media mostly write about the problems of entrepreneurs who do not know how to survive due to work restrictions, penalties for public disclosure of the problems, and the lack of additional payments to medical workers.
Journalists of Sverdlovsk Oblast recorded 60 signals about problems. The problems of entrepreneurs, job and income loss among residents, and coronavirus infection due to someone else’s irresponsibility are in the top.
56 signals were recorded in Altai Krai, almost half of them are about entrepreneurs who barely survived during the pandemic.
The media of Novosibirsk Oblast reported 54 signals of problems due to coronavirus. The problems of people who are abroad, the problems of entrepreneurs, the lack of additional payments to medical workers, and COVID infection due to someone else's irresponsibility are in the top of the regional rating.
44 signals of problems were recorded in Chelyabinsk Oblast. Job and income loss and the lack of additional payments due to coronavirus are in the top.
Regions with the largest number of signals about problems caused by coronavirus included Arkhangelsk and Vologda Oblasts (37 and 33 signals, respectively). The most complaints in both regions are from entrepreneurs whose businesses have been affected by the pandemic.
