On Sunday, March 2, in the CBC "Oktyabr" on the Novoselov street there was an open meeting dedicated to the 4th anniversary of Strategy-31 in Ryazan.
The first action of the movement took place in our city on March 31, 2010. Since then, activists have consistently sought the rights to freedom of assembly.
After a time, the authorities had to start to adjust holding pickets, rallies and marches in the city center. Every time the opposition took to the unauthorized activities, were detained, but thus were proving the meaninglessness of prohibitions.
As a result, over the years of struggle for the right to freedom of assembly in Ryazan, it is now possible to implement in practice.
Thereafter, activists took upon the question of free elections and observance of social civil rights. The activity was conducted with varying success here. "Intelligence of officials could defeat their own tyranny. But still can’t get through the greed for gain and unrestrained lust for power," noted at the meeting.
From now forward it was decided not to scrap the fight, focusing on the demand of dissolution of illegitimate City Duma, as well as speeches in defense of freedom of speech and against political repressions.
The Strategy-31 meetings are held every 31st date of "long" months at 18 o'clock on the Lenin Square.
