Perm police have refrained from initiating an administrative case against pensioner Viktor Gilin for staging an anti-war picket, local activists told 7x7 on December 17.
On November 17, police officers detained 79-year-old Viktor Gilin after he staged a protest near the Perm Krai Administration building. He held a sign that read: "Mr. Putin! Military operations destroy our planet and contradict the Climate Doctrine of the Russian Federation. I strongly urge you to end the Special Military Operation (SMO)!"
At the police station, the sign was confiscated for further examination.
A month later, on December 17, representatives of the Planetary Saviors project informed 7x7 that police refused to initiate an administrative case under Article 20.3.3 of the Russian Administrative Code (discrediting the army) due to the absence of evidence of wrongdoing.
Viktor Gilin has staged at least 18 solo pickets since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
