On the morning of October 31, a gas explosion occurred in a building on Lobodin Street in Cherkessk, Karachay-Cherkessia, killing five people, as reported by RIA Novosti, citing the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations.
According to the republic’s head, Rashid Temrezov, rescuers evacuated around 50 residents from the building and provided them with temporary shelter.
The incident resulted in five fatalities and at least 11 injuries. Temrezov announced one-time payments of 1 million rubles for the families of the deceased and 300,000 rubles for the injured.
On August 3, 2024, a gas explosion in Nizhny Tagil, Sverdlovsk Oblast, caused the collapse of an entire section of a five-story building, resulting in 10 fatalities, including five children.
