On September 1, priests from the Bryansk Diocese toured Bryansk with the Svensk-Pechersk Icon of the Mother of God, as reported by the institution on social media.

Representatives of the Bryansk Diocese claimed that in 1812, Napoleon’s army retreated from the city following a religious procession with the icon.

"Since then, we have held a procession on August 30 to express our gratitude for this salvation. Today’s prayer was dedicated to the protection of our Fatherland and the Bryansk region from enemy invasion," the diocese's statement reads.

On the night of August 22, Ukrainian military forces attempted to breach the border in the Klimovsky District of Bryansk Oblast. Governor Alexander Bogomaz asserted that the attack was successfully repelled.

In response to the Ukrainian army’s incursion in Kursk Oblast, priests also held a service at the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant in Kurchatov. Afterward, the religious procession carried the icons throughout the plant’s territory. A similar service was conducted in Rostov Oblast near an oil depot, which had been burning for four days due to a drone attack.
