On September 2, the Central Election Commission recommended restricting access to election broadcasts and prohibiting photography at voting stations across six regions, according to the organization's press office.
The proposed restrictions apply to Krasnodar Krai, Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kursk, and Rostov Oblasts, as well as Crimea and Sevastopol. Photography and video recording at voting stations will be banned, with exceptions only for accredited media representatives.
The Central Election Commission cited an enhanced public safety regime in border regions as the reason for these measures, stating that they will "help protect the lives and health of citizens," according to the organization’s press office.
However, camera access will be permitted for all individuals involved in the electoral process during the elections of State Duma deputies in two single-member districts in Bryansk and Rostov Oblasts.
