The prosecution has requested 8 years in prison for Kirov activist Richard Rose on charges of spreading false information about the army. He refused to make a final statement at the court session on September 21, as the activist’s friends have informed 7х7.

The prosecution has asked for 8 years in prison for Kirov activist Richard Rose. Rose was offered to make a final statement at today's meeting, but he refused. The activist will be sentenced tomorrow, September 22.

Rose was arrested in April 2022. He is charged with false information about the military and calls for terrorism. Richard's wife, Maria Rose, also under a criminal investigation, emigrated from Russia in December 2022.

In June, Rose pled guilty at a court hearing. He admitted that he had made a post on his social media page about the Bucha massacre accusing Russia of the tragedy. A few months before the guilty plea, Richard Rose claimed he had been tortured in the Kirov FSB office. According to his words, officers had beaten him and threatened to rape and kill his wife. The agency did not comment on his complaint.

Richard and Mary Rose have a small child.
