"Charitable Komi pies" this time replaced the last year’s "Charitable pilaf" helped the Third Syktyvkar BarCamp.
Those who wished to contribute to the organization of a camp outside the city gathered in the Syktyvkar timeclub "Campus", where they were offered real Komi pies with toppings suited any taste: with meat and potatoes, chicken, berries, and also shangi.
It was managed to collect 5,000 rubles, half of which repaid the costs of cakes purchase. Fed visitors of timeclub could donate funds to BarCamp just by putting them in a special box.
Contributions are modest, but the main thing for the audience was communication and discussion of the upcoming event: its form and content. After eating pies and drinking nosey tea, the participants of the charity event moved to the second part.
“Our main objective is to make the Third Syktyvkar BarCamp successful and to somehow differ from the previous two in a good way. Only 3-4 people organized the first BarCamp in the very first meeting. If today all people sitting here are ready to participate in the organization, it means our organizational group grown at least seven times,” the executive director of «7x7» and one of the organizers of Barcamp Pavel Andreev said.
Campground will be outside the city in already becoming accustomed "Gazha vor" camping site. The date is July 5-6, when the weather will most likely be good.
This year, there will be more finance at the disposal of the organizers of the Third Syktyvkar BarCamp. The last year's BarCamp budget was 100 thousand rubles.
“With a 95% probability BarCamp will be held with Presidential grant money, won by our friends — Voronezh Youth Human Rights Movement. When the hysteria about all these foreign agents began, Putin promised to allocate funds for various projects and NGOs. There was a competition last year, and this organization was awarded a grant for the development of its network in the North-West. They heard about Syktyvkar BarCamp and decided to help the event to hold such events in Voronezh hereafter,” Pavel Andreev said.
Besides, Syktyvkar people are willing to be supported by "Levada Center", International "Memorial" and Kudrin’s Committee of Civil Initiatives, sending its experts to BarCamp. By the way, there will be half as many lecturers and they will pass the selection carefully. If more than 30 people spoke on two sites in 2013, their number is reduced by half now.
The key theme of the BarCamp is: "How to protect against the dark arts". It's about the manipulation of mass consciousness in various fields. All the requests of the charity event guests on a country town are noted and will be considered.
