Participants of an antiwar picket in Syktyvkar were released from the police department

Let us recall that a human rights defender Semyon Tereshonkov, a chairman of the "Pokayanie" community fund, a historian, a board member of the International Memorial Society Mikhail Rogachev and a journalist Sergei Sorokin took to the center of Syktyvkar with posters devoted to the events in Ukraine and Crimea.

After about 10 minutes the three were detained near the building of the head and government of the region and taken to the police department.

Currently, all the detainees are released; they were drawn up administrative protocols under Article 20.2 Part 5 "Violating a procedure established for arranging a meeting, rally, demonstration, procession or picket", and the posters were confiscated.

According to one of the picketers, Sergei Sorokin, they expected to be arrested.

“My opinion is that the president of our country, possessed of atomic weapons, is not adequate. This is called the aggression of my country against another one. Don’t want to fight,” he explained.
