The hearings began at 10 a.m.; in the court room, as always, there were a lot of attendants, including local television. It began with the interrogation of the accused — anarchist Alexey Raskhodchikov.
Alexey explained that he was coming back home with his friends, they met the police on the way. One of the police officers — the victim Eliseev, removed a flashlight and flashed in the face of Raskhodchikov, and then asked to submit. In turn, Alex also asked the policeman to introduce himself, but was ignored. Defendant asked Eliseev if he arrested or not and got a negative answer, after that he headed into the house.
The conflict itself, according to Raskhodchikov, was otherwise than according to the public prosecutor: Eliseev stroke him down to the ground, undercut, and then the police started to inflict blows randomly to the head and torso. Raskhodchikov himself maintained no resistance, he was just trying to stand up and protect the head with his hands, but as a result he still got a head injury, and he was put two stitches in the hospital. Knife appeared in the case accidentally — it fell out of the case when the squad of Patrol-Guard Service was detaining him.
"I distinctly heard the sound of metal, and the phrase "look, he also has a knife", Raskhodchikov tells. "I haven’t seen who said that, as I was lying facedown and was put handcuffs on."
Also, the defendant explained that he carried a knife for self-defense, but didn’t removed it for a few weeks, the lack of fingerprints on the "butterfly" provides evidence of this fact. A lawyer of Raskhodchikov also said that Alexey is a member of the anti-fascist movement and has frequently been the victim of attacks by neo-Nazis and extreme right hooligans.
According to Raskhodchikov, that evening the police came up to him and his friends because of their informal look, and the detention was carried out particularly roughly due to the fact that they felt unpunished. The anti-fascist believes the prosecution to be fabricated and nothing else but a response to conceal the traces of the crime in relation to Raskhodchikov: during the arrest clearly excessive physical force was used, beyond the powers of the police, the defendant said.
After interrogation, the defense moved to inclusion of other evidence — video recording and storyboards of the outdoor surveillance cameras.
It is noteworthy that on the video submitted by lawyer the official spokesman of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Murmansk region pushes a version inconsistent with the proper version of the public prosecutor — that night Raskhodchikov allegedly cut the policeman with a knife. Let us recall that now the civil activist is imputed the attempt to use a knife, which was successfully blocked by the policeman.
By the way, testimony of Alexey Raskhodchikov also fully complied with the investigation data verification — neither the prosecution nor the victim didn’t point to its inconsistency.
