Initiative group, opposing the construction of the burial site of radioactive wastes near Ukhta settlements: Shudayag, Vodny and Jarega, proposed all citizens of the country to appeal to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, head of the region Vyacheslav Gaizer and mayor Igor Mikhel with the request to affect the decision on construction of the facility. They are calling to stop the dangerous construction. «7x7» publishes the text of the appeal.
As one of the members of the initiative group said (resident of the village Shudayag Yekaterina Rudenko), previously public figures collected several thousand of signatures against the construction of the burial site of radioactive wastes. However, she believes that private appeal of the citizens, not only from Ukhta, will have a stronger influence.

“We collected signatures, but these appeals are in one list, they are not bothering anyone. This is done to ensure that there was an understanding among those who make decisions about the claims relating to the construction of the burial site of radioactive wastes — it's not only claims of the initiative group and crazy people, but they also affect the interests of a large number of people,” social activist noted.
According to Yekaterina Rudenko, the initiative group is counting on the fact that the head of the republic Vyacheslav Gaizer will turn his attention on the worsening of the situation. He is known At the beginning of January 2015 his authority ends, and if he wants to run for a second term, the solution to this problem should become a priority task.
“The people who stand at the head of the republic should have a clear position on this issue. We can make our choice only when it becomes clear. It is important to understand whether this person is to pursue only his own interests or the interests of business, or will think about how to make the situation better for the whole republic,” Yekaterina Rudenko said.

The text:
"We, .............................................. ............ family strongly oppose the construction of the burial site of radioactive wastes between settlements: Shudayag, Jarega, Vodny and suburban arrays.
We believe this is a direct threat to the lives and health of our children and us! We consider it necessary to find another — alternative choice of localization of radioactive waste without the construction of the site!
The environmental situation in the Ukhta area of the Republic of Komi is already very complicated because of the oil and gas industry.
We earnestly ask you — do not let the construction of the burial site of radioactive wastes near settlements of Ukhta and the Republic of Komi!”
